Consumer relations

MJH’s Consumer Relations practice is made up of experienced lawyers who have been supporting businesses in the field of consumer law for many years. We help clients develop business strategies that comply with current regulations, minimising litigation and regulatory risks whilst increasing consumer satisfaction and loyalty.

We regularly advise companies operating in the retail, e-commerce, financial, telecommunications, pharmaceutical and services sectors. Our lawyers have been involved in numerous complex proceedings concerning market practices, complaints and consumer disputes, including those relating to guarantees, warranties and unfair market practices.

We support and represent our clients:

  • in their dealings with consumers and in proceedings before the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection and the ordinary courts – we develop defence and settlement strategies
  • in the design of compliance policies and procedures in the area of consumer rights protection – we prepare guidelines for employees and management, which explain in practical terms the company’s obligations
  • in handling complaints, consumer disputes and court proceedings – we assist with risk analysis, the preparation of evidence and the valuation of claims
  • in implementing e-commerce solutions compliant with consumer law – we advise on terms and conditions, privacy policies and sales practices

Our experience includes, amongst other things:

  • drafting and implementing complaints procedures, as well as returns and warranty policies
  • effectively negotiating settlements in consumer disputes
  • advising on inspections and audits by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and other supervisory authorities
  • handling proceedings relating to unfair market practices, prohibited clauses and personal data protection
  • support in developing consumer-friendly sales and marketing models that comply with legal requirements
